Brazil vs Senegal Live Stream: The international break is upon us once again and it brings an interesting matchup between top teams from South America and Africa. Brazil will play two friendlies at the National Stadium in Singapore during this break, with the first coming against Senegal on Thursday. The five-time World Cup champions will get a great test against the AFCON runner-ups.
The Seleção have named a very strong roster for this rather inconvenient break from the busy club season. Superstars like Neymar, Roberto Firmino, Coutinho, Ederson and Gabriel Jesus have all been summoned by manager Tite for this one. While it’s a who’s who of names, there are four players receiving their first call-up to the national team. Atletico Madrid’s 21-year-old defender Renan Lodi headlines the shortlist that features mostly domestic-based talent.
The summer is a long way away, but preparations for the 2020 Copa America can’t begin too soon, as Brazil will be heavy favorites to defend its title. With the tournament being co-hosted by Argentina and Colombia, it will be a challenge for the team to hold on to the trophy.
Senegal has called up an interesting squad for this tough match. Regular European-based stars like Sadio Mane, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Kalidou Koulibaly have been named to the roster by manager Aliou Cisse. This match is a tune-up for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifying that begins in October.
Brazil will be taking on Senegal for the first time on Thursday afternoon as the South American champions meet the World Cup fan favourites.
This will be the first match for Senegal since their 1-0 loss against Algeria in the African Cup final where they had an impressive run and the team have won eight of their last ten matches.
They also made a big impact in the 2018 World Cup with their team spirit and strong attack which was evident when they beat Lewadowski’s Poland 2-1.
They were were the first team in World Cup history to be eliminated by the fair play criteria after accumulating more bookings than Japan, who had the same amount of points in their group.
Brazil failed to build on their summer Copa America in two disappointing matches recently when they drew 2-2 against Colombia and were defeated 1-0 by Peru, ending their 17 match unbeaten run.
